Cabaret benefits Oakland’s ‘unadoptable’ cats
In November 2018, the Oakland non-profit Cat Town held a cabaret fundraiser at East Bay Community Space. A night of cat-themed tunes, food and whimsy, the event featured the musical pair Katzenduo, formed by Meghan Dibble and Margaret Fondbertasse, both music instructors at Skyline College.
Project Search helps adults with developmental disabilities find work
Between 2016 and 2018, Bay Area community partners helped 140 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities secure jobs. Sam Yuen, 25, of Fremont is one of those adults.

“Swap Mama” sews new life into old clothes
Cecelia Clark doesn’t buy clothes anymore — she just fixes and alters her existing ones. This is because as the “swap mama” of Bay Area Swap-O-Rama-Rama she always says “create more, consume less.”
